Difference between alpine and mountain cheese
All cheese? No, there is actually a difference between alpine and mountain cheese! Alpine cheese is made on the alp from the raw milk of cows that spend the summer on the alp and graze fresh alpine herbs. Mountain cheese, on the other hand, can be produced all year round by cheese dairies in mountain regions. The milk can also come from cows that graze in the valley and are fed with hay during the winter.
At the Dallenwil village square market you will find a regional offer on the first 6 Saturdays of every month from April to November. Depending on the exhibitors, this can range from vegetables, meat and cheese to pickles, preserves, knitwear, handicrafts or crafts.

The next market day is on 5 April 2025 and will take place from 9.00 to 12.00.
