Beckenried - Klewenalp

The holiday resort of Beckenried is idyllically situated on the shores of deep blue Lake Lucerne and at the foot of the Klewenalp. The poet Isabelle Kaiser (1866-1925) described Beckenried in her works as ‘the most beautiful village on the most beautiful lake’. This is what the people of Beckenried still call it today: “S'scheenschtä Dorf am scheenschtä See”.

The charming village

In Beckenried, directly on the lake, cosy hotel terraces invite you to take a break. Enjoy culinary delicacies or round off an eventful day out. A leisurely steamboat trip allows you to get to know the region from a different perspective. In summer, you can refresh yourself with a cool dip in Lake Lucerne or compete in a game of minigolf. The Risleten Gorge, where you can marvel at waterfalls, strudle holes and impressive rocks, is somewhat hidden away.

Klewenalp excursion mountain

From Beckenried, the aerial cableway takes you up to Klewenalp in just a few minutes. During the journey, you can enjoy wonderful views of Lake Lucerne and the mountains of Central Switzerland. In summer, the Klewenalp is an excursion paradise for hikers, climbers, bikers and paragliders. From Klewenalp you can walk to the Stockhütte in Emmetten along a path suitable for pushchairs.

For winter sports enthusiasts, the Klewenalp-Stockhütte area offers a total of 40 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes for skiing and snowboarding. Sledgers, snowshoe walkers and Nordic walkers are also welcome on the Klewenalp.
