The Oberalp organic mountain farm is located on the sunny side of the Engelberg Valley at 1413 metres above sea level and belongs to the municipality of Wolfenschiessen. It can be reached from the valley by two cable cars. The mountain home has been inhabited all year round for three generations.
Directly from Oberalp, you can reach Gummenalp within half an hour or hike to Engelberg via a high-altitude hiking trail. On the way, you hike along the Nidwalden/Obwalden border and can enjoy views as far as the Bernese Oberland. A short detour to the famous Chärnoupärsee lake is definitely worthwhile. The Kernalp and the lake can be easily reached from the Oberalp in 1h30min.
The Oberalp cable car is the continuation of the Nechimatt - Diegisbalm cable car and primarily serves as access and transport for the Berghof and the surrounding alpine farms.
