Lutersee at 1740 m above sea level, above Grafenort (OW).
The Mettlen-Rugisbalm and Rugisbalm-Lutersee cable cars take you to a beautiful view point. From the Lutersee mountain station, follow the gravel road to Eggen. After 1 hour and 15 minutes (3.2 km, approx. 300 m difference in altitude) you reach the Lutersee, 1740 m above sea level. In fine weather the idyllic mountain lake reflects the famous Titlis on its water surface.

 

Arrival by cable car
The 4-seater cable cars Mettlen - Rugisbalm and Mettlen - Rugisbalm run on demand. You sit down in the cable car and call in by phone. The Töngi family then sets the cable car in motion. Contact: Töngi family, +41 41 637 24 33

Openings

The mountain railway is always open. Summer and winter. There is no timetable.

Directions & Parking facilities

Anreise
Route planner to Grafenort. About one kilometre after Grafenort, the road branches off to Mettlen to the Mettlen-Rugisbalm cable car. The turnoff and the cable car are signposted.

Parken
Parking spaces at the valley station are limited.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
Rail journey to Grafenort. SBB timetable. From Grafenort railway station, a beautiful path leads into the valley along the Engelberger-Aa to the valley station of the cable car in Mettlen. Hiking time around 30 minutes.
