For cross-country skiing enthusiasts, there is a three-kilometre-long trail that includes some steep ascents and descents. Another great way to explore Gitschenen in winter is the circular snowshoe trail. An hour and a half hike takes you from the top station of the cable car to the ski lift, then to the "Vordere Schrindi" viewpoint and back to the cable car. Snowshoes can be hired from the cable car if required.
