Rock path "Felsenweg" at Bürgenstock

The rock path was built between 1900 and 1905 and leads high above Lake Lucerne along the rocks from the Bürgenstock Resort to the Känzeli viewpoint. The gravel path is 2.2 kilometres long and takes about 1 hour to complete. It is an easy path with a slight incline and is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The rocky path leads to the Hammetschwand lift, which can be used to shorten the route and take you directly to the Hammetschwand. Of course, you can also do without the lift and walk the entire rocky path to Känzeli Honegg and then up to Hammetschwand.

The trail is accessible during the summer months from May to October. The opening date in spring and the closing date in autumn are announced on felsenweg.ch

Hammetschwand Lift

Around 45 minutes walk from the Bürgenstock Resort.

The Hammetschwand lift is also a special structure. In just one minute, the highest outdoor lift in Europe takes you from the rocky path 152.8 metres up to the Hammetschwand. Once at the top, you can expect a marvellous view, a mountain restaurant and a picnic area. The lift operates from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm during the summer months. In winter and in bad weather with rainy, windy or icy conditions, the Hammetschwand lift is closed.
